South Square Mall Renovation - Durham, NC
South Square Mall went through extensive renovations requiring a very complex plan approval process with the City of Durham, and detailed coordination with several large national retailers. Existing retail facilities had to be preserved and kept open during the renovations. Existing asphalt paving was recycled on site for use as structural fill and sub-base for new paving. Extensive hydrology models were developed to study and address past and future flooding concerns. Great care was taken to preserve existing perimeter landscape buffers.
